ARTICLE RETRACTION
SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT: "West Texas Atlatl Cache" was written and published as the cover story in Texas Cache Volume 5 #2 in 1999 with reports of two atlatls found in a West Texas cave between 1991 and 1999 along with perishable relics and Paleoindian projectile points. Since then information has come to light that these two atlatls are in fact prehistoric artifacts, but were actually found in Mexico, not Texas, and it is not clear if laws were followed or broken regarding acquisition of these artifacts.
This article falls under the criteria of STAGED/HOAXED/FALSIFIED information and is not tolerated by Texas Cache, making necessary this retraction. In the spirit of transparency, however, here is the article in its original format from 1999 with flawed information.
