ABOUT THE STONE HEAD:

The Real County Museum in Leakey has this carved limestone head on display. It’s about the size of a soccer ball and was found in 1948 when Ranch Road 337 between Leakey and Camp Wood (one of the most beautiful scenic roads in Texas) was constructed. The museum is seeking more information about it--anyone with knowledge of carved heads, especially those that appear to have a helmet or hair like this one, is invited to submit their input.

The Real County Historical Museum is located at 161 Evergreen Street in downtown Leakey, Texas. RealCountyHistoricalMuseum.com
