SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT: "West Texas Atlatl Cache" was written and published as the cover story in Texas Cache Volume 5 #2 in 1999. The contributor made claims of two atlatls found in a West Texas cave between 1991 and 1999 along with perishable relics and Paleoindian projectile points. Since then information has come to light that these two atlatls were actually found in Mexico, not Texas. The entire story is now discredited. Here is the article as it appeared in 1999.
